With this mural, I have brought a new resident of Rotterdam/Crooswijk into existence. I wanted to give her a strong presence by portraying her on a large scale, confidently owning her femininity. She takes up her space in the streetscape by doing the ordinary: walking the dog while carrying shopping bags. She has a distinctive appearance, but no clearly defined age, race, or ethnicity.
